Laura Quigley, MS, CNP, CNS, ONC
Advanced Practice Nurse Laura Quigley

Laura currently serves as an Advanced Practice Nurse and Research Assistant in the section of Adult Joint Reconstruction. She has worked with total hip and total knee replacement patients for over 20 years in the roles of staff nurse, practitioner-teacher, unit leader, and in her current role. Since 1989, she has developed and managed a registry of information about the joint replacement population and has served as the coordinator of research studies in this area. Laura works closely with the medical staff and fellows on numerous outcome studies and serves as Principle Investigator for the Rush Orthopaedic Information, Tissue and Implant Repository Study. She has co-authored multiple articles and abstracts and has lectured extensively, both locally and nationally. In addition to her clinical and research roles, Laura also teaches at Rush College of Nursing as an Assistant Professor and is active in the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care to joint replacement patients
  • Educates patients and their families regarding conservative management of arthritis, preparation and recovery from joint replacement, and long-term issues related to joint replacements
  • Serves as clinical manager of the hip and knee replacement registry
  • Coordinates and serves as co-investigator for research activities related to joint replacement surgery
  • Mentors fellows and nurses in the research process
