Dance students from Dyett and Whitney Young high schools in Chicago celebrated National Biomechanics Day with a unique field trip to Hubbard Dance Chicago. They learned STEM concepts, including force, muscle activation and captured movement using small electrodes connected to their bodies while they danced. The half day event was coordinated by Antonia Zaferiou, PhD, Director of the motion analysis lab at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.
