First Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeries Completed at New Oak Brook Surgery Center

On November 7th, 2019, Dr. Kern Singh and his surgical team completed the first minimally invasive spinal surgeries at the new jointly operated RUSH and MOR ambulatory surgical facility in Oakbrook. The new surgery center includes six operating rooms; two procedure rooms; and 28 patient bays for pre-surgical preparation and post-surgical recovery
Four patients underwent successful minimally invasive lumbar decompressions and were discharged home within 2 hours of their surgery. The combined facility offers state of the art care to patients with the newest radiology, anesthetic and surgical technologies. The facility is equipped to handle outpatient cervical and lumbar laminectomies, discectomies, artificial disc replacements and fusions all performed minimally invasively as an outpatient.
