Beginning September 23, 2024, Drs. E. Bailey Terhune and Rob Burnett, both fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, will begin seeing patients at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) effective September 23, 2024. Both completed their orthopedic residency at MOR and now join the nationally renowned practice which is consistently ranked among the top ten in the nation and the #1 orthopedic program in Illinois.
Dr. Terhune has a particular interest in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, and complex primary and revision hip and knee surgery. She received her undergraduate degree from Colorado College, followed by her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine where she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
While in residency at MOR, she received multiple awards for her dedication to teaching, research, and clinical care. Dr. Terhune further specialized in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement through her fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. She is now an assistant professor at Rush University Medical Center, in addition to being a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).

Dr. Burnett performs routine and complex primary and revision hip and knee reconstructions and partial knee replacement. He has received extensive training in minimally invasive techniques and direct anterior total hip arthroplasty. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, where he played on the varsity basketball team for four years. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. While in residency at MOR, he was awarded “Best Chief Resident”.
Dr. Burnett completed an additional year of fellowship training at the University of Utah, specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He is now an assistant professor at Rush University Medical Center where he enjoys training residents and fellows in adult reconstruction. His research interests include the biomechanics of hip and knee replacements, revision joint replacement techniques, patient outcomes, perioperative care optimization, and health policy. He has authored many publications and is completing a health policy fellowship with the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
