Abbey Misenheimer is the Sports Physical Therapy Residency Director at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and leads the Special Interest Program for in-house continuing education.
A North Carolina native, Abbey earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned a postgraduate degree to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Emory University, with advanced training in Pilates, Dry Needling (Level I), Strength and Conditioning, and Manual Therapy. Abbey's experience includes an internship at the Atlanta Ballet and a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at the University of Miami (FL), where she worked with the Miami Hurricanes Football team and in the Lennar Foundation Medical Center PT department.
Abbey is always excited to share her passion for evidence-based practice with residents and patients. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants, running by the water, and attending White Sox games.
