Dr. Nickless, originally from the South suburbs of Chicago, brings a wealth of experience in sports medicine to his practice. He completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago, where he was also a member of the ice hockey team. He earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School and then completed his residency in Family Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL, where he served as chief resident.
Following residency, Dr. Nickless pursued a fellowship in sports medicine at Rush University Medical Center. During his fellowship, he served as a team physician for several prominent organizations, including the Chicago White Sox (MLB), Chicago Bulls (NBA), Chicago Fire (MLS), DePaul University, Chicago Steel, and various local high school teams. His experience extends to covering major events such as the Chicago Marathon, Shamrock Shuffle, AVP volleyball tournament, and the IGI Chicago Style Gymnastics Meet.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Nickless is an active recreational runner and golfer, and he continues to play men’s league ice hockey. He is a dedicated sports fan, with a particular enthusiasm for supporting Chicago sports teams, especially the White Sox and Blackhawks.
Dr. Nickless and his wife reside in Northwest Indiana, where they enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
