Dr. Kern Singh is a globally recognized expert in minimally invasive spinal surgery, known for his pioneering techniques and innovative approach. He frequently shares his expertise with neurosurgeons and spinal surgeons worldwide, including during recent guest lectures in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Singh is one of the few surgeons in the United States specializing in Endoscopic Spine Surgery and is extensively involved in designing advanced minimally invasive spinal instrumentation.
In 2024, Dr. Singh was appointed Vice-Chair of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center and serves as the Director of the Division of Spine Surgery at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.
Dr. Singh's clinical practice focuses on the minimally invasive treatment of complex degenerative disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He also specializes in the minimally invasive management of spinal tumors and adult spinal deformities. His commitment to cutting-edge procedures and excellent patient outcomes has earned him numerous accolades.
An award-winning researcher, Dr. Singh has published over 200 articles, presentations, and book chapters in major medical journals. He has received notable awards for his research, including Best Paper honors at the North American Spine Society (NASS) and Society of Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery (SMISS) International Meetings in 2013. Dr. Singh is the principal investigator in several FDA clinical trials focused on cervical disc replacements and motion-preserving spinal technologies.
Recognized as one of the nation’s Top 100 spine surgeons and specialists by Becker's Orthopedic Spine and Pain Management, Dr. Singh has also been awarded the "Top 10" Doctor Award, Most Compassionate Doctor, and Patient's Choice Award from Vitals.com. He served as the chair of the Spine Program Committee for the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting from 2017-2020.
Dr. Singh graduated Magna Cum Laude from Jefferson Medical College and completed his training with a combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical spine fellowship at Emory University.
