Dr. Vasili Karas is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in rapid recovery hip and knee replacement and complex reconstruction surgery. Committed to empowering his patients to overcome pain and return to their favorite activities, Dr. Karas brings advanced surgical techniques and compassionate care to his practice.
A Chicagoland native, Dr. Karas earned his medical degree from Rush University Medical College in Chicago with the ultimate goal of giving back to his community. He completed his residency training at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina before returning to Chicago for a fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery at Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Karas is dedicated to providing personalized care by spending ample time with his patients, fostering open communication, and utilizing the latest medical technologies. His approach integrates physical therapy, joint injections, and state-of-the-art surgical procedures to achieve the best outcomes and expedite recovery. He is an active committee member of the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles.
