Chiropractic Care

If you have neck, back, or other joint pain, chiropractic care from the experts at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) may help relieve your symptoms. Our highly skilled and trained practitioners utilize hands-on therapy to help restore function and reduce pain related to both acute and chronic injuries.

What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic services involve treating pain-related disorders of the spine and extremities. Diagnosis and management are performed by the chiropractic physician and involve a thorough physical and mechanical examination of the site of pain, as well as areas away from the site of pain, to identify possible contributing factors. Treatment of pain-related disorders considers multiple facets of the person's life, including biological aspects (e.g., injury history, inflammation, tissue/scar remodeling, nerve pain), psychological aspects (stress and mood contributions), and social/contextual factors (work/home life). Realistic and specific exercise prescription is provided to every patient based on clinical findings, using a patient-centered approach.

Our Approach

Chiropractic care at MOR emphasizes inter-professional communication and comprehensive evaluation to meet the surgical and non-surgical needs of our patients. Our chiropractic team utilizes The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) for the management of spinal and extremity problems. This reliable, research-driven process of assessment, classification, and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions encourages active patient involvement and self-care.

This approach enables us to determine when a patient’s condition will best respond to non-surgical care, or when it may require a surgical consult and other interventions. Using a system such as MDT allows all chiropractic physicians (surgical and non-surgical) to work collaboratively to best meet each patient’s needs.
