The Orthopedic Oncology practice at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) specializes in treating patients with bone and soft tissue tumors. Our orthopedic oncology doctors are leaders in the treatment of various sarcomas — a rare form of cancer — as well as limb salvage, bone substitutes, and bone transplantation. We provide the most advanced surgical reconstructive techniques available, such as limb-sparing operations using human bone transplants. 

The doctors at MOR were pioneers in the use of bone substitutes and self-lengthening pediatric implants that can be lengthened as a child grows—without additional trips to the operating room. We were the first in Chicago to use these revolutionary implants and remain among the few practices nationwide capable of performing the procedures. Our specialists are also at the forefront of 3D modeling, using imaging from MRI and CT scans to create tactile models that provide ultra-accurate cutting guides for removing tumor and bone.
